i was at the hospital the other day in the waiting room for about 2 hours with a friend, and i noticed only one awake magazine from 2000 in the pile of reading material.. i always thought that the watchtower was trying to "preach the good news to all the inhabited earth before the end comes".
well , they don't like the internet, which is the # 1 way to inform people, you cannot get a subscription anymore unless someone at the hall does it for you or you are still attending, probaly why i didn't see any at the hospital, or lawyers office, or doctor's office etc etc etc.. it seems to me that they are trying to limit what info gets out to the outside world, is this not contradicting all they have preached the last 50 years.. no subscriptions for anyone who might want one ?????????.

i would like to know what are the habits of jws when it comes to a death in the family.
this would include situations when the family are not jws as well as when the deceased person from a jw raised family passes, disfellowshipped or not.

Bottom line, if your loved one (deceased) is to have their last rights given by dumbs, I mean dubs.
It will be a guilt ridden crusade to gain members, not a loving, send off.....so sad.....

It is handled on a case by case basis.
For example, my step grandfather had his ''memorial'' at the local hall. He had only attended a few times, usually for the memorial.
He was not a witness, but his wife and family were. They conducted the service. I mean, business meeting...

If the member was in good standing, the service is held at the hall.
The remaining family members are then told (in front of the whold attending crowd) that their deceased love one, would be ridden with grief, to know they werent devoted Jw's.
The death of a loved one is not aimed to let the family grieve, and offer comfort, it is used as just another opportunity to recruite magazine salesmen.....
